Embry-Riddle Tops List for Online Bachelor’s Degrees Among Private Institutions in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s online undergraduate degree programs have secured the top spot among private institutions in the 2024 “U.S. News & World Report” (USNWR) Best Online Bachelor’s Programs ranking. Over the period from 2016 to 2023, Embry-Riddle consistently held either the first or second position among all institutions, both public and private.

In the latest rankings, utilizing a new methodology, Embry-Riddle Worldwide claimed the 13th position out of 348 schools evaluated by USNWR. Additionally, the Worldwide Campus achieved the 5th position in the best online bachelor’s degree programs for veterans, sharing the spot with the University of Central Florida.

Embry-Riddle’s online graduate-level degrees, especially in engineering and business, as well as programs catering to veterans, demonstrated commendable performance in the 2024 USNWR ranking.

While Embry-Riddle currently holds nine Top 10 rankings across its Worldwide Campus and residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona, it’s important to note that residential campus programs are evaluated separately in the fall rankings.

The 2024 rankings by USNWR have undergone changes in methodology. Notably, the assessment of student debt levels now focuses solely on the average debt among graduate borrowers, excluding the percentage of student borrowers from the calculation. This approach may impact rankings, as illustrated by the example comparing schools with different borrowing patterns.

Despite the altered methodology, Embry-Riddle emphasizes that only 17% of Worldwide Campus students graduate with any debt, and the average per-capita student debt is significantly lower at $4,095 compared to most other institutions.

Moreover, the 2024 ranking does not account for the high return on investment associated with a degree from Embry-Riddle Worldwide. Nearly 98% of surveyed graduates are employed (96.8%) or pursuing further education (0.8%) four years after graduation. The median annual earnings of former Embry-Riddle Worldwide students receiving federal financial aid, a decade after enrolling, surpass the national midpoint by a substantial margin, standing at $82,012 compared to the nationwide median of $50,482.

In summary, Embry-Riddle Worldwide achieved notable rankings in 2024, including the highest-rated online bachelor’s degree programs among private institutions and strong positions in various categories such as programs for veterans, engineering, and business. The university highlights its commitment to low student debt and emphasizes the significant return on investment for its graduates.
